Membership is open to individuals with qualifications and interests in the field of medical genetics:
Members: Qualified clinical geneticists with at least an MBBS, MD/MS/DNB, and DM in Medical Genetics or equivalent experience/training.
Associate Members: Non-physicians with a PhD in genetics, clinicians with MBBS/MD/MS and an interest in medical genetics, or genetic counselors with an MSc in Genetic Counseling from a recognized program.
Founding Members: Medical geneticists who initiated the academy.
Patrons: Renowned medical geneticists who have significantly contributed to the field.
2. What are the types of memberships?
The membership categories include:
Member: Full-fledged membership for qualified clinical geneticists.
Associate Member: For non-physicians, clinicians, and genetic counselors with relevant qualifications.
Founding Member: Reserved for the initiators of the academy.
Patron: Eminent medical geneticists invited by the academy.
3. What is the membership fee, and how can I pay?
The current life membership fee is ₹5000, subject to revision by the Executive Committee.
Patrons are exempt from membership fees.
Payments can be made as per the methods communicated by the academy during the application process.
4. How do I apply for membership?
Submit an application form with the required documents and the prescribed fee. Applications are subject to approval by the Executive Committee.
